Giving directions without a point of reference is pointless because the directions could be explaining how to get there from a different location.

Book Report Thing

So, I read A graphic novel on the battle of Gettysburg. The book was very informative, even including battle formations and such. The writer had some problems with keeping it entertaining, but these seemed to be better by the end of the book. It went over all three days of combat, and the Gettysburg Address. It was “The Graphic History of Gettysburg; America’s Most Famous Battle and the Turning point of the Civil War”, by Wayne Vansant. It was overall, a good book.

Here’s the answers to my history homework.

  1. Coastal cities in the middle colonies developed because high quality harbors allowed for those nearby to make a living
  2. Religious tolerance was developed in the middle colonies partially due to the diversity of the immigrants there, as well as the religion that the founders of some of the middle colonies were Quakers, which was a religion that valued freedom of religion.
  3. The two languages that I’ve heard most are English and Chinese, although at the time of the first 13 colonies it was likely English and German.
  4. There would be roughly 115830 English speakers, while there would be 53460 German speakers, 29700 Dutch speakers, and 98010 other.
  5. The backcountry was often called a wild area, somewhat like the western frontier earlier.
  6. Ultimately, conflict developed in between the colonists and the Native Americans because they both wanted the same land and resources.
  7. The clan system helped the Scots-Irish survive by allowing them to come together in times of need more easily.
  8. The Native Americans would have felt terrified by the increasing number of colonists that were coming; though if you were to take any colonist who realized how many Native Americans were willing to kill him to take the land they got, they would have fled the colonies.

Land was important to the colonists because it allowed them to vote, and was a way to judge social class.

Women contributed to colonial economics by participating in several of the same things as men. Young people contributed to the economy by learning through work, which supports the economy by providing work for practice.

The great awakening affected the colonies by encouraging people to stand up to unjust governments and work for their rights. It also revived a lot of

The English government angered the colonists by removing the right to have a elected assembly of officials, instead replacing it with a appointed governor. They also increased taxes, which, with the combined lack of representation in government caused a lot of resentment.

England’s policies toward the colonies changed when they also had a similar problem when the king tried to take away power from the parliament. Some of the things they changed were the way governors were appointed and maintained, by re-allowing the colonies to elect assemblies , which, while the governor could over rule, they paid the governor.

Trackers Overnight!

Hi! Today I will tell you about a Trackers weekend overnight I went to! So, while we were there, I got to carve (I’m working on making a wooden toy dagger), swim, and a few other things. One of the things that I did that not everyone else did was play a bunch more rounds of Katan, which was very fun. I also got to explore a island after using a canoe to get there, and eventually swimming across the distance to the mainland. We did some shelter making, and some wood processing, as well as some hiking and tracking. It was a really fun weekend, and I look forward to the next one, although, next time I want to bring some more supplies. Well, that’s all, so, bye!

Hi! Today I will tell you about a book I read! So, this book was about Lafayette, who was a French noble who participated in the American revolution, and, despite the fact that he was given his rank because of connections and riches, he lead several successful battles, which made him become a respected individual in the American army. He was also able to get France to send over a fleet to help America. The book went into much greater detail on his life, and it was fun to read. The book was “Lafayette!” and was a book in the Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales series, which was made by author Nathan Hale. Well, that’s all, so, bye!
